Unruly wood fiber is sanded away to reveal a buttery, smooth surface. Our canvas becomes more 'supple' to the kiss of the pyrographer's hot pen. A free-hand design is applied and becomes a map to guide the imagination into physical reality. Bamboo is sturdy and enduring, so we thought it befitting to cast this on to wood. The imagery becomes scorched and permanent. A tint of pale green paint is gently applied-as if the segments are simply blushing from the stroke of the brush. A carving tool was then used to reveal the bare wood underneath. Atop are handcrafted, clay beads resembling the jade stone. The depth of the green is as lush and vivacious as a bamboo forest. Small gold-plated Hematite spacer beads mimic the bamboo's segments.
